Common mistakes
Not natural: They is my friends.
Better: They are my friends.
They takes are, not is, even when it refers to one person.
“They” के साथ “are” आता है, “is” नहीं—एक व्यक्ति के लिए singular they इस्तेमाल हो तब भी।
Not natural: The teacher spoke with they.
Better: The teacher spoke with them.
Use them after a preposition such as with; they is the subject form.
“With” के बाद object form “them” आएगा; “they” subject के रूप में इस्तेमाल होता है।
Learner tip
Use they as a subject and them as an object. For one person, they still takes are, have, and other plural-form verbs.
Subject के लिए “they” और object के लिए “them” बोलें। एक व्यक्ति के लिए भी “they are” और “they have” इस्तेमाल होता है।
